Headlights are part of the crumple zone, which is why many headlight housings are manufactured in such a way that they break and absorb energy in the event of mechanical impact.
The breaking behaviour also depends on the brand, model, type of plastic, age of the headlight, operating hours, etc.
In some cases, even we are unable to open headlights without causing damage to the outer sealing lip (cracks/breaks/pressure marks). At the end of the work, these are reassembled as well as possible and "retouched" so that any possible damage is not immediately noticeable. Such damage cannot be claimed as a defect, as we cannot circumvent the housing characteristics specified by the manufacturer.
We are happy to answer questions about the typical breaking behaviour of a specific headlight model.
It should always be assumed that there are no approval markings on the lenses.
On newer vehicles, these are generally already located on the housing label as standard and are no longer found on the lenses.
